Top Ten Obsessions From Makenzi Hogan

Hey Y’ALL. It’s Kenz… by morning I’m marketing lead for HOTELette, by afternoon I’m owner/creative/director of East Seventy Second, a concierge marketing firm here in Austin, TX. By evening, I’m a professional sleeper. But, I digress. I was thrilled when Allison asked me to share my Top Ten Obsessions for the HOTELette Blog, because - let’s face it - I’m a shopping addict. Here’s some of my latest obsessions that get me through the work day…

Let’s be honest, no one likes underwire bras. And this Xirena Gisela Bralette is the perfect alternative. It’s comfortable, it’s chic and even better- it doubles as an adorable bathing suit all summer long.

I’m a huge fan of all things Drunk Elephant and the brand’s commitment to making gentle, skin-saving products that are toxin-free. I absolutely swear by the Drunk Elephant Baby Facial – it has inspired me to finally commit to taking care of my skin.

As someone who lives in sweaters year round - I have to share my current favorite. This Cashmere Pullover is super soft and has an oversized fit.

On a trip to Florence, I discovered Santa Maria Novella Hand Cream at the world’s oldest pharmacy and was immediately hooked. Nothing is worse than a cream that leaves your hands dry a minute later (we’ve all been there). Though it’s a tad indulgent, this cream smells uh-mazing and is absolutely worth it.

I wholeheartedly believe in investing in jewelry you’ll wear every single day. I gifted myself with this June Pearl Necklace and I have yet to take it off. Let’s just say I am fully on the baroque pearl bandwagon. Since purchasing the necklace, I’ve learned how to make the same piece (to my unique specifications) from Whitney Woodard of Beaded By W.

This Marlee Fringe Blanket is the extra layer my bed has been begging for. I’m a bit obsessed with rearranging and redecorating my house and can’t wait to add more moody blacks like this into the mix.

Despite my mom’s obvious disapproval, this cheeky twist on fine art by Fly Art Productions is frequently the center of attention in my house. If the Met and Kanye had a baby, I’d imagine it would look something like this – and I love it.

I started reading The Defining Decade after watching Meg Jay’s TED Talk: Why 30 is not the new 20. This book is a must-read for all 20 somethings.

Luxury candles like the Santal Diptyque are my guilty pleasure and the Santal scent is my current obsession. I burn through these - literally - like nobody’s business.

I swore I wouldn’t make this purchase I forgot my headphones while traveling and bought these AirPods in the airport. They’ve transformed my evening dog walks and work calls (now I can fold laundry when I’m on a conference call that could’ve been an email). Seriously, I’m not sure how I ever lived without them.
